Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.

Erik ten Hag's side are on the lookout for a striker following the departure of Ronaldo by 'mutual agreement' on Tuesday.

Ronaldo's exit was anticipated by many fans, with the 37-year-old needing to be replaced ahead of a busy second half of the domestic season.

United have been linked with a number of forwards, including Tottenham's Harry Kane and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim that the Red Devils are keen on signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG - as one of few clubs that could afford the France star's huge wages.

The latest links have taken them in the slightly left-field direction of Pulisic, with the United States international having not been a regular starter for the Blues this term, particularly under Thomas Tuchel.

He has recorded one goal and two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions at club level.

Pulisic is currently representing USA at the World Cup, and put in an energetic display in his nation's 0-0 draw with England on Friday. He hit the crossbar with a fierce effort in the first half.

Now, United are reportedly keeping tabs on him ahead of the January transfer window.

Man Utd keen on signing Pulisic

ESPN claim that Pulisic is expected to be able to leave Chelsea in the upcoming window, with United reportedly weighing up a loan move for the 24-year-old.

It is said that Ten Hag's side want the player due to his ability to play in numerous positions across the front three, with the Dutchman favouring a two-winger setup this term.

They may face competition, however, with Arsenal also said to be monitoring Pulisic's situation as they look to add a winger to their squad.

Speaking earlier this week, Pulisic's international team-mate, Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams, was full of praise for the winger.

He said after USA's 1-1 draw with Wales last Monday (quotes via Daily Mail): "He is an unbeilable player.

"What you saw on the goal, he is probably the only player on the field that can set that play up. That is a glimpse of what he can do.

"He is super talented, and he is going to be a huge integral part for us moving forward."

If United can get a January deal done, Pulisic could become an integral part of the Red Devils side as well.
