'I envisage...' - Manchester United tipped to make major transfer U-turn

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now likely to stay at the club beyond January, according to new reports.

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now likely to stay at the club beyond January, according to new reports.

Wan-Bissaka's future at the club was under serious doubt prior to the World Cup, and talkSPORT claimed in December that Wolves were planning a move for the right-back in the current transfer window.

The 25-year-old was injured for much of the first half of the campaign, and played just five minutes of first team football until he made his return for the December 21 Carabao Cup clash against Burnley.

And reports suggested that United would consider allowing him to leave the club mid-season, with several right-backs linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The defender had been targeted by Julen Lopetegui's side as they look to secure their Premier League status for another campaign, whilst a return to former club Crystal Palace had also been rumoured.

However, those planned moves now look likely to be off.

Wan-Bissaka 'set to stay at Man Utd'

Transfer journalist Ryan Taylor has said he 'envisage[s]' that Wan-Bissaka will stay at Old Trafford beyond the January transfer window.

He explained on his YouTube channel: "I envisage him staying at Manchester United now. He's having a real run of games in the side with Diogo Dalot experiencing injury problems since the World Cup, and look at the run United are on, it speaks for itself, really.

"Wan-Bissaka has shown a great attitude to hang in there and basically take his chance when he's got it. He's playing really well."

Last week, the Daily Mail claimed that the right-back had impressed Ten Hag since his introduction into the team post-World Cup - and he put in another promising performance in the 2-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday.

And given reports last month that United will only targeting cheaper permanent deals or loan moves, it appears that Wan-Bissaka may be given the remainder of the season to prove that he should stay at United for the long-term.
