Manchester United have confirmed their starting XI and substitutes to take on Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Erik ten Hag has reacted to United's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday, in which the Red Devils were restricted to only one shot on target over the 90 minutes.

It was another disappointing result in the Premier League, coming only a month after the shocking 7-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said (quotes via United's official website): "Today we didn't create many chances and when we were there, we weren't determined enough to score a goal. That's the truth.

"The best chance was maybe for the equaliser for [Anthony] Martial, the deflected shot. But we didn't create enough."

The result means United head into tonight's clash with Thomas Frank's in-form Bees now outside of the automatic Champions League qualification places.

A point, however, would take them back up into third place, with the fixture representing one of two games in hand over fourth-placed Tottenham.

It is, therefore, a major opportunity for United to get back on track, with all still to play for in the remaining part of the season.

Man Utd vs Brentford: Starting XIs confirmed

Ten Hag has made one significant change to his starting XI in response to the Newcastle defeat, with Jadon Sancho replacing Wout Weghorst.

Other than that, United remain unchanged, with the Dutchman trusting his players to respond at Old Trafford tonight.

Brentford, meanwhile, also make one change, with Aaron Hickey being replaced by Mads Roerslev on the right side of defence.

United will have to be aware of the threat posed by the strikeforce of Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney, who were both heavily involved in the 3-3 draw against Brighton at the weekend.

Toney has 17 Premier League goals to his name this season, with four assists, while Mbeumo has scored five goals and provided five assists over the course of the campaign.
