Ten Hag responds to Roy Keane Man Utd request as 'personal mission' revealed

Ten Hag responds to Roy Keane Man Utd request as 'personal mission' revealed

Man Utd boss Ten Hag has responded to a Roy Keane request.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has finally responded to club legend Roy Keane after he asked for tickets to the Carabao Cup final during a live broadcast.

The Red Devils secured their place in the Wembley showpiece after beating Nottingham Forest over two legs earlier this month.

They will face high flyers Newcastle United on February 26, and club legend Keane made no mistake in asking Ten Hag to get him tickets following the semi-final victory.

Whilst Ten Hag didn't commit to anything at the time, a source close to the club has finally given Keane a response that he will love.

As reported in The Sun, they said: “The manager promised Roy some tickets and has made sure he will get them.

“No one at the club has more than a couple to give to family and friends so it is a lovely gesture by Erik.

“He respects Roy for his incredible playing career and isn’t fazed by the directness of his punditry.”

Despite leaving the club on bad terms in 2005 following a fall out with manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Keane still has a love for the Red Devils and will be rooting for them in the stands at Wembley - if he isn't on punditry duty, that is.

Can United win their first trophy under Ten Hag?

It's already been an impressive season for United under Ten Hag but lifting a trophy - which would be their first in nearly six years - would make it even more special.

The Red Devils remain the only English side left in four different competitions and return to Wembley for the first time since the 2018 FA Cup final where they lost to Chelsea.

They will be hoping it goes differently this time, and were handed a boost on Saturday with Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope being sent off, meaning he will miss the final.

The Magpies will be forced to play their third-choice goalkeeper due to Martin Dubravka being cup-tied. He played for United in the same competition whilst on loan earlier this season.
