Man Utd vs Man City betting tips: Marcus Rashford and Erling Haaland to score in Derby thriller

Manchester United take on Manchester City at Old Trafford in what is likely to be the most fiercely contested derby between the sides for some time.

Erik ten Hag side have been relentless in recent months, having put together eight consecutive victories and suffered just one defeat in 18 games.

Meanwhile, City sit in second place in the Premier League, five points adrift of table toppers Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side has been in stuttering form in both the league and cup, as evidenced by a lifeless 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Southampton earlier this week.

United set to hold City

Erik ten Hag’s side are a different outfit from the one that was dispatched 6-3 at the Etihad in October.

They have lost just once in the Premier League since, and are more defensively sound, having conceded six goals in their last 10 matches.

However, Guardiola will unleash his first-choice XI, which includes the star power of Kevin De Bruyne and the machine-like Erling Haaland.

United are the team in form but City are the side with the most depth of quality.

Rashford to score, Haaland to score

Marcus Rashford is one of the Premier League’s most in-form players.

He has scored 15 goals in 25 games across all competitions this season, at a rate of 0.6 goals per game, the best rate of any season in his United career.

Rashford has also proven in the past that he is a big game player, having scored in wins over Liverpool and Arsenal this term alone.

As for Haaland, it’s more of a surprise when the Norwegian does not score than when he does. He has already found the net 27 times this season - you wouldn’t bet against him scoring again.

Rashford and Haaland to score at any time are at 4/1 with Betfred.

Haaland is also the favourite to score first at 2/1.
