Arsenal legend Ian Wright named Manchester United midfielder Casemiro as the signing of the season.
United ended their longest trophy drought in 40 years on Sunday, by beating Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley to claim the Carabao Cup.
Casemiro opened the scoring in the first half before the in-form Rashford added a second to help the club to their first silverware of any kind since 2017 when the mercurial Jose Mourinho managed the club to the League Cup and Europa League.

Indeed, manager Erik ten Hag has transformed the United's fortunes since arriving at Old Trafford last summer. The club are still battling in the Europa League and FA Cup, while they have an outside chance of winning the Premier League.
And central to United’s revival has been the summer arrival of Casemiro.
Ian Wright on Casemiro
Wright was full of praise for Casemiro after the Brazilan’s performance in the Carabao Cup final.

The former Arsenal striker said via centredevils: “Casemiro is the best signing of the summer.”
Indeed, eyebrows were raised when United gave up their pursuit of Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong, to sign the then-30-year-old Casemiro for an initial £60million on a lucrative four-year contract, with the option of a further year.
However, the midfielder’s impact has been sensational, highlighted by the high praise he has received from his teammates.
Luke Shaw joked that Casemiro only gives the ball away so he can win it back, while Antony labelled his compatriot a “guard dog in the middle”. Furthermore, Bruno Fernandes noted after United beat Barcelona in the Europa League, that “obviously when [Casemiro] has to tackle, he goes strong”.

Indeed, Casemiro has averaged four tackles per 90 minutes in the Premier League, which puts him second on Opta’s list for the category, while he has recorded the third most ball recoveries in the league [5.6 per game].
