Antony has blamed the air conditioning in Qatar stadiums for his illness

The winger recently spoke about the bug which has hit Brazil's camp.

Antony has blamed the air conditioning inside Qatar stadiums for his recent illness at the World Cup.

The Brazil winger has come off the bench in victories against Serbia and Switzerland.

Tite's side has already qualified from Group G with a game to spare, even without being at full strength.

Antony joined Neymar and Danilo on the sidelines in the training session following last Thursday's win over Serbia.

The 22-year-old appeared on Selecao and Manchester United teammate Casemiro's Twitch stream to discuss his time in Qatar.

Antony explained: "It was a bit difficult. I ended up having a bad feeling there for a few days which complicated me a bit.

"I’m recovering well and getting 100 per cent. It was more of a sickness, throat. It was the air conditioning.

"Not only me, but other players also had a cough and a bad throat. It’s very difficult for me to get sick, but I’m happy to be an important part of the team.

"Whenever you need Antony, I’m available."

Antony joined United from Ajax in the summer after previously working in Amsterdam with Erik ten Hag.

Before the World Cup break, he scored three goals including one on his debut against Arsenal in September.

Brazil will still be without Neymar when they finish the group stages against South Korea on Friday.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar was kicked from pillar to post against Serbia, suffering an ankle injury which reduced him to tears.

He was watching along on Monday as Casemiro volleyed home a sensational effort with seven minutes to go.

Neymar went on to call Casemiro the best midfielder in world football on social media.

The 30-year-old declared: "Casemiro has been the best midfielder in the world for a long time."

Brazil only have to avoid a defeat to top the group. Should they do that, they'll face the runners-up of Group H.
