Manchester United have turned their attention to Watford ace Ismaila Sarr after walking away from a deal to sign Bologna forward Marko Arnautovic.

Austrian international Arnautovic emerged as a target for Erik ten Hag on Sunday but according to 90min Football, United decided that the €15 million price tag set by Bologna was too much and therefore will not pursue a deal.

Instead, it is believed that United have added Sarr to their ever growing list of targets.

With the future of Cristiano Ronaldo still up in the air, the club are looking to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window slams shut.

24-year-old Sarr has been constantly linked with a move away from Watford over the past few seasons, but a move never materialised.

Sarr started last night for Watford as they took on West Brom at the Hawthorns. Despite the game ending as a 1-1 draw it was the Senegal winger who stole the show after scoring a spectacular goal from inside his own half to open the scoring. However, he missed a late penalty to put his side 2-1 up, his tame effort was saved by the legs of the West Brom keeper, David Button.

Ten Hag is looking to add to his ranks before the end of the transfer window after his side’s miserable showing against Brighton on Sunday.

Graham Potter’s Seagulls were the better side from start to finish, and thanks to a first half brace by midfielder Pascal Gross, they were 2-0 up at half time.

United mounted a half hearted come back in the second half after Ten Hag introduced want away star Ronaldo. Brighton showed commendable heart and determination as they held to for a 2-1 win.

Brighton’s win on Sunday was the first ever victory they managed at Old Trafford in the club’s entire history. Prior to Sunday, their last 14 visits to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ ended in 12 defeats and two draws.

Apart from the attacking areas, the Red Devils boss is also looking to add to his midfield options.

It has been reported that a deal to bring Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford from Juventus is close to being finalised. A fee has been agreed with the Turin club, with United now tasked with negotiating personal terms with the player’s representatives.

Aside from Rabiot, United are believed to be keen on Lazio’s Serbian international, Sergej Milinkovic Savic, with the Old Trafford club set to prepare a bid worth £68 million.

It remains to be seen whether a deal for Sarr or Milinkovic Savic will materialise but time is starting to run out for Ten Hag to add to his squad.
