"He's special" - Owen Hargreaves wowed by Man United player who has "brought everything"

Former Man United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has picked out Casemiro as the one player to have made a major difference since arriving at Old Trafford.

Casemiro was one of the standout signings in the Premier League this summer. A five-time Champions League winner, the Brazilian star made the move to Old Trafford in August.

The transfer occurred after United's chase of Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong came to an end. Erik ten Hag's side looked to the other side of the El Clasico divide, convincing Real Madrid to part with one of their top assets.

It was a slow start to life in England for Casemiro, as Ten Hag elected to ease him into Man United's XI.

But he has started each of the club's last six games - showing his full range of talents in the process.

United legend Rio Ferdinand described his performance in the 2-0 win over Tottenham last week as "absolutely immense", with the Brazilian giving forward players the opportunity to play, whilst protecting the back four.

Then, in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Saturday, Casemiro scored an incredible 95th-minute header to salvage a point.

And Hargreaves is the latest United alumni to give huge praise to the 30-year-old.

Owen Hargreaves delighted with Casemiro

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hargreaves explained: "He's brought everything. Leadership - he's won five Champions Leagues.

"He's a special player, and I think he's good under pressure, and he helps United be better on the ball.

"We think about United when they were getting results under Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], and even under Ten Hag at the start of the season, against Arsenal and Liverpool they played on the counter.

"Now, with Casemiro in there, you can play it into him at all times. And he's brilliant defensively. I think he has so many attributes that go unnoticed, and the header against Chelsea is the icing on the cake.

"The thing that has surprised me has been his passing - it's been exceptional. We know defensively he's really good.

"Casemiro plays the ball forward. Fred and McTominay were good players, but they didn't play forward in some of the crucial moments.

"He's been what we anticipated in terms of defensively winning the ball, one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and he's won five Champions Leagues. There's a reason for that, because this guy is so reliable."
