Manchester United fans are struggling to contain their excitement after Declan Rice admitted Old Trafford is one of his "favourite places to play".

The West Ham vice-captain churned in and complete midfield display in defeat against United, who scored a last-gasp winner through Marcus Rashford.

Rice, 22 continued to enhance his growing reputation with an assured performance that saw him break up play and drive forward throughout.

But it was post-match when United fans started to get really excited as the England international buzzed while talking about 'the Theatre of Dreams' in a Sky Sports interview.

"I was loving it," Rice said.

"Every time I come to Old Trafford, I've always said it's one of my favourite places to play. It's an amazing stadium."

It was music to the ears of the Red Devils faithful, who want to see him line up at Old Trafford on the regular in United red.

I hope that Declan Rice will be playing at Old Trafford every fortnight next season.

The way he tries to hide his smirk after saying, “…places to play” 😂 lad knew exactly what he was doing there - we need him in a UTD shirt next season!

Rice has continually been linked with a big move away from the London Stadium, with United, Manchester City and Chelsea all known admirers.

Former United right-back Paul Parker has urged his ex employers to "spend a fortune" on Rice as he believes he is "the best central midfielder in the country".

"If you wanted to spend a fortune on a midfield player, go and get Declan Rice," he told Bettor.

“Declan is the best central midfielder in the country.

“If City wants to pay £100 million for Jack Grealish, if someone wants you to pay £160 million [for Declan Rice], then you gotta pay it because Jack Grealish wasn't worth £100 million. They’ve set a mark now.”

Rice, contracted with West Ham until 2024, has one goal and four assists in the Premier League this term.

There's talk the Irons will look to demand more than £100 million for their prized asset.
