On Wednesday night, the 21-year-old started as Uruguay took on Nicaragua in a friendly clash.
Having started on the right side of the attack, Pellistri produced a brilliant first-half performance as he chipped in with two assists, whilst he also looked sharp with the ball.
In the end, Uruguay came out 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Matias Arezo, Brian Rodriguez and a brace from Rodrigo Zalazar.

United fans were quick to react to Pellistriโs display on social media.
One said: โFacundo Pellistri in that 1st half has been absolutely sensationalโฆ
2 very well-taken assists, looked so good in tight spaces & is constantly causing the opposition problems. Top performance.โ
Another tweeted: โHe is the sort of winger a striker would benefit from more. As a matter of fact, Weghorstโs only goal at OT was directly from his wing play. Our current wide men are not really creators. Hope he gets a Prem loan next season. Needs about 20-30 games a season to develop.โ
A third fan added: โWe have a gem on our hands.โ
Someone else wrote: โI have been advocating all season, the lad needs more chances. Has looked great every time he has played. Personally, I like the fact that he is a right-footer playing on the right.โ
Whilst a fifth commented: โFor a second I thought that was Messi.โ
Throughout the 22/23 season, Pellistriโs opportunities were limited as he only made 10 appearances across all competitions, providing just one assist.
In a recent interview with United's official website, Pellistri praised manager Erik ten Hag.
He said: โItโs incredible [to be managed by Ten Hag].
โHe has a very good mentality. In the first days he arrived here, he was very clear with his ideas and I think we are looking [like we understand his ideas] on the pitch every match.
โHe has the clear idea, he is telling you all the time things you have to improve and I think thatโs the way we can get to the top.โ
