Anthony Elanga’s latest comment on Fred’s Instagram post has got Manchester United fans talking.

After a season filled with ups and downs under Erik ten Hag, United are now busy working behind the scenes to build a squad capable of challenging Manchester City.

With the transfer window edging ever closer, rumours about players’ futures are starting to heat up.

After spotting Elanga’s comment on Fred’s Instagram post, fans have been speculating.

Fred posted on social media after United’s defeat by City in the FA Cup final, he said: “A defeat is always hard to take. Thanks for all the support this season. With our heads held high, we will continue to fight together for United. Thanks God.”

Swedish international Elanga then wrote: “Thank you for everything brother. What a player.”

Fans have been reacting to Elanga’s comment on social media.

One said: “Anthony Elanga has left this comment on Fred’s most recent post, which seems to suggest that Fred may leave the club this summer.”

Another commented: “After I saw him talking to Marco Silva I knew he was going to Fulham.”

A third fan added: “Maybe because Elanga is the one leaving.”

Someone else wrote: “Strongly think that Elanga is the one leaving.”

Whilst a fifth opined: “Naah because Elanga is the one going. We can still keep Fred for the depth.”

Fred has been linked with a move away from United after losing his starting spot to the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

After the final Premier League match against Fulham, the Brazilian midfielder was seen having a long conversation with Marco Silva, which led to speculation that he might move to the London club in the summer transfer window.

In Elanga’s case, he has seen his opportunities drastically limited since Ten Hag took charge at Old Trafford.

Over the last few months, the 21-year-old has been linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Everton.
