Manchester United have been accused of being 'disrespectful' by fans following their 'shameless' social media post about Donny van de Beek.

Van de Beek made a brief cameo showing in Man United's thrilling 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

He replaced two-goal hero Bruno Fernandes in the 89th minute, bringing up his 50th appearance for the club since his move from Ajax in 2020.

Man United marked his landmark with a dedicated post on Twitter.

They shared a picture of the Dutchman, accompanied with the caption: "A half-century of United appearances for @Donny_Beek6 on Saturday."

However, the club's post did NOT go down well with their own supporters online.

The 24-year-old has played a bit-part role since his transfer to Man United, making a handful of starts in the Premier League.

Man United fans slammed the post about Van de Beek, calling it 'disrespectful' and 'shameless'.

One tweeted: "This tweet is disrespectful."

A second wrote: "This is insane and the most shameless thing I’ve ever seen."

A third added: "lool this is called taking the piss."

Van de Beek has been the subject of intense transfer speculation as a result of his lack of playing time.

Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund are thought to be keen on snapping him up this month.

Man United, meanwhile, could've moved above sixth-placed Tottenham had they held onto their lead.

The draw, though, sees them remain in seventh place on 32 points, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
