Man City supporters brutally trolled for one of the 'worst chants' of all time, rival fans are calling it 'cringe'

Manchester City fans have been told they have “potentially the worst chant” of all time after footage emerged of their “atrocious” chant at matches.

The defending Premier League champions are maintaining pressure on league leaders Arsenal in a nail-biting title race, despite being eight points behind.

Pep Guardiola’s men have also secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals after a thumping 6-0 victory over Burnley in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

And City are still in contention for this season’s Champions League after their ruthless 7-0 second-leg last-16 win over RB Leipzig, with Guardiola’s side to face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

While City could still win major silverware before the season is out, fans have been brutally mocked after one of their chants made the rounds on social media.

In the footage, which can be viewed in the video player above, fans can be heard saying: “Something’s happening, happening to me.

“Spent all my money on drugs and City. Awoo. I wanna follow you everywhere. Awoo. I wanna follow you everywhere. Du-du-du-du-du-du-du.”

“This is potentially the worst chant I’ve ever heard,” one fan tweeted.

Someone else commented: “The half commitment really makes this worse.”

A third added: “Without [a] doubt the worst chant [I have] ever heard that.”

“Embarrassing. Talking about taking drugs and what the hell is awoo? Cringe,” a fourth posted.

And a fifth wrote: “This is atrocious, my word.”

“Cringe chant, NGL,” one Twitter user said.

City will return to action after the international break when they host Premier League rivals Liverpool at the Etihad on 1st April.
