Haaland posts message on Instagram amid injury fears ahead of Arsenal vs Man City

Erling Haaland broke his silence after his injury.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland posted a message on Instagram after suffering an injury that could rule him out of Wednesday’s clash against Arsenal.

The Gunners are currently at the summit of the Premier League, though have seen their advantage over City reduced to just three points after claiming a draw and defeat in their past two games.

Next up for Mikel Arteta’s side is a top-of-the-table clash with City - the first Premier League encounter between the two sides all season.

Fans and pundits have widely claimed that the results of Arsenal’s two games with Pep Guardiola’s men will be decisive in determining whether the north London club can claim their first league title since 2004.

And the league leaders have been handed a major boost in the build-up to the game, with City talisman Haaland likely to be sidelined through injury.

Erling Haaland takes to Instagram

Haaland is a doubt for City’s crucial Premier League match against Arsenal after he picked up an injury during the Manchester club’s 3-1 over Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Norwegian, who has scored 25 Premier League goals already this term, came off at half-time when City were leading 3-0.

Despite his injury woes, Haaland appeared in high spirits after the game, taking to Instagram to praise the team's performance and the club’s fans.

The 22-year-old said on Instagram: “What a team performance! Fans were unreal, thanks for being our 12th man.”

Guardiola however has confirmed Haaland is an injury doubt for Wednesday evening.

The City boss admitted: "Erling has a knock; he was uncomfortable."

"At half-time I spoke with the doctors. They said maybe with the score like it is we don't take risks, and I agreed."

Guardiola added: "If the score was tighter, then maybe I don't do it. I think he is not injured but on Monday we are going to see.

"Hopefully he can be in for Wednesday. But if he is not ready or there is some risk, he is not going to play."
