Liverpool are pushing hard to complete the "perfect signing" this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Jurgen Klopp's side are expected to make a number of signings in the summer window after a disappointing campaign that is likely to end without a top four finish or silverware.
Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League, nine points off the Champions League places, and will need a remarkable series of results to fall their way in the final months to secure a place in European football's top competition next season.

The Reds are most in need of midfield reinforcements and have been linked with a number of players, most notably Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
Liverpool were thought to be favourites to sign Bellingham but earlier this month multiple reports claimed the club had pulled out of the race for the England international, with the potential costs of signing the player deemed to be too high.
Liverpool 'pushing' to sign Gravenberch
Liverpool have reportedly turned their attention to other targets, including Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

According to The Mirror, Gravenberch has informed Liverpool he would be open to moving to Anfield with talks already held between the club, his father and his agent.
The 20-year-old has become frustrated with his lack of game time since moving to Bayern from Ajax last summer.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims Bayern have no plans to sell the Netherlands international.

But transfer expert Romano claims Liverpool are pushing hard to complete a deal for the midfielder.
"Liverpool are still there for Ryan Gravenberch, still pushing, they have not given up," said Romano, in his daily briefing substack for CaughtOffside.
"They consider him as a perfect signing, and he wants to play, not to be on the bench like he has been at Bayern.
"Still, Bayern want him to stay, so they have no intention to negotiate, let's see if they can persuade him to stay.

"Liverpool are waiting, but Bayern consider him a really important player, so Liverpool are also considering Mason Mount and they will have contacts with the camp of Alexis Mac Allister soon, probably in the next few weeks."
