"Real talents..." - Jurgen Klopp names four Liverpool youngsters who could step up next season

These Liverpool starlets could make a step up next season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has named four Reds youngsters that could make an impact on the first team next season.

The Reds have given opportunities to a number of young talents this season, with Stefan Bajcetic the biggest beneficiary of Klopp's faith.

Although his season was ended prematurely through injury in March, the Spaniard had by then become a regular member of Liverpool's starting XI in what has been a breakout campaign for the 19-year-old.

But elsewhere, the Reds opted to allow other youngsters to leave on loan to gain experience.

There have been mixed successes for some of those young players. Rhys Williams moved to second tier Blackpool on a temporary basis at the beginning of the season, but struggled for regular game time from September onwards and was recalled in January.

Fellow centre-back Sepp van den Berg joined Bundesliga side Schalke after a successful 18-month loan spell at Preston North End, but his campaign has been blighted by injury.

But wing-back Conor Bradley has thrived at Bolton Wanderers in League One, helping the Trotters into the play-off places and earning recognition from higher up the pyramid in January. Ian Evatt's side also won the Papa John's Trophy, beating Plymouth 4-0 at Wembley in April.

Tyler Morton, meanwhile, made 46 appearances for Championship side Blackburn in all competitions, although his season ended last month when he had surgery on a broken ankle.

Now, Klopp has commented on the fortunes of his loan players - and which ones could play a role next season.

Klopp on Liverpool youngsters

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's final game of the Premier League season against Southampton on Sunday, Klopp said: "There are no plans for these boys I spoke about. We want to keep them. If we can give them the opportunity to play we will keep them, definitely, because they have the quality, definitely.

"The next generation after that, that's a different story maybe, we have to see how we do that.

"But Conor Bradley's coming back, was in the building yesterday, I saw him. I had the feeling he grew in the time he had at the other club! We have big hopes for him, to be honest.

"Luke Chambers, coming back [from Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock], other boys coming back. Owen Beck [from Liga Portugal side Famalicao) now already back a bit earlier.

"We have real talents. Tyler Morton, coming back, he's injured so we will see. But no real plans, the pre-season will start and then we'll make these kinds of decisions."

With Liverpool playing Europa League football next season, there may be more opportunities for young players to impress Klopp and his coaching staff - and they will be desperate to do so.
