Borussia Dortmund expect Liverpool target Jude Bellingham to leave next summer, according to reports.

The German club will reportedly offer Bellingham new terms in the hope of keeping the 19-year-old beyond 2022.

However a MailOnline report claims that Dortmund fully expect to part ways with the England man next summer, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid all interested in his signature.

Indeed, the Athletic have claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made Bellingham their top transfer target heading into the new year.

However, the Reds will have to pay a substantial fee to prise Bellingham out of Germany, given the Birmingham-born youngster’s current deal runs until 2025.

Bellingham has already established himself as one of the most dominant midfielders in world football, having netted eight times this term and captained Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

He’s also made a mark on the international stage, with many England fans expecting the player to start for Gareth Southgate’s side at the World Cup in Qatar.

In September Bellingham starred as England roared back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 against rivals Germany.

The Dortmund midfielder played a key part in the Three Lions’ opener and was also fouled for the penalty which led to their third goal.

Southgate has long been an admirer, having picked a then 17-year-old Bellingham for his final 26-man Euro 2020 squad.

At the time England manager said: “Jude is phenomenal.

“Just in training in the last couple of days, to have a 17-year-old, who wants to compete with senior players, not only has the technique, but the competitiveness and maturity… he’s a hugely exciting player.

“He’s going to be an important player for England. We’re not just taking him for the experience.

“The experience is going to be enormous for him and for future England managers because I don’t see anything in his character that means he won’t succeed.

“But his performance levels with Dortmund in the big Champions League games were the things that really struck us.

“He stood up in those big moments. They are the moments we’re really assessing the players on.”
