"Can play anywhere" - Unknown Liverpool player dubbed a "real danger" could be future of Klopp's side

Another Liverpool wonderkid could be fully involved with the Reds' senior squad soon.

Liverpool U21 coach Barry Lewtas has named Mateusz Musialowski as one Reds starlet he believes has an exceptionally bright future at Anfield.

Liverpool's academy has been known as a breeding ground for some top talents over the years.

The likes of Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Steve McManaman, Jamie Carragher and Raheem Sterling have all graduated to become first-team stars over the years.

More recently, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones both came through Kirkby.

Currently, the Reds have a number of starlets on the cusp of the first team, including Stefan Bajcetic, Harvey Blair and Bobby Clark.

Another name is that of Musialowski, who has been tipped as a future star for Jurgen Klopp's side. And that verdict has been backed by Lewtas, who is full of praise for the young midfielder.

Liverpool U21 coach backs Musialowski

Lewtas spoke to the media after the Reds' recent 2-1 victory over Everton in the Premier League 2, with Ben Doak's strike earning them victory.

On Musialowski's performance, he told the Liverpool Echo: "He's not a traditional nine, but he's similar to Ben [Doak]. You want to get these players the ball, and when Matty dribbles in the middle, he's a real danger.

"He did really well today, especially in the first half. He created a couple of chances for us.

"He can play anywhere across the frontline. The important thing is just trying to get him the ball."

Can Musialowski graduate to the first team?

Although the Poland youth international has starred at reserve level, he has not yet been handed his senior Liverpool debut by Klopp.

However, he has featured in the Papa John's Trophy for the U21 side this season.

The midfielder is highly rated amongst Liverpool academy coaches, and whilst his preferred position is in a creative role, he can also play in forward areas as well.

He scored 133 goals in 88 games at former club SMS Lodz in Poland, before making the move to Anfield.

And he has been dubbed the 'Polish Messi' in homage to the legendary Argentinian, who made the 'false nine' role his own during the early 2010s at Barcelona.

Now aged 19, it is surely not long before Musialowski does follow in the footsteps of Owen, Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and co in making the step up to first-team honours - and he could be a star of the future.
