Liverpool Legend Reveals Which Klopp Signing Should Find It 'Easy' To Settle In

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has spoken out about new signing Calvin Ramsey

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has said it should be ‘easy’ for new signing Calvin Ramsay to settle in at Anfield.

18-year-old Ramsay arrived from Aberdeen in a £6.5m move earlier this month, having had a stellar campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

He won the SWFA Young Player of the Year despite the Dons’ poor season, where they finished tenth.

He will likely fill the void Neco Williams is set to leave, playing second fiddle to Trent Alexander-Arnold in the right-back role.

“They made it easy for me,” Nicol told the Daily Mail. “And when I look at this Liverpool squad now, they look really together, too. No doubt Robbo (Andy Robertson) will be the first one that will look after Ramsay, so I expect it just to be the same.

“Robbo is also a good guy, so I don’t think there’s any danger. As I said, he’ll look after Calvin.”

Nicol was 19 when he arrived at the club for a bargain £300,000 fee. He went on to win five first Division titles, three FA Cups, one European Cup, one FA Charity Shield and a League Cup.

Ramsay has joined a year younger and if he replicates Nicol’s career in terms of honours, he will leave Liverpool a legend.

“Obviously, I’m a right-back, pretty attacking – I like to attack. I’m OK defensively as well, but my main attribute is attacking,” Ramsay said, speaking to LFCTV.

“I can put good crosses in, I like to get shots away, both feet, cutting inside, going down the line, linking up with my winger.

“But mainly I like to work hard, work hard for the team, put in that shift and that’s all I can do.

“I will try and do my best for the club. I’m looking forward to it.”

He also cited Alexander-Arnold as an inspiration for his game and spoke about his excitement about playing with him.

“He’s just been brilliant, everyone in football knows that,” Ramsay continued.

“Because I’m a similar position, even before there was interest from Liverpool I looked up to him.

“He’s similar to the way that I play. His attacking, his crosses, he can use both feet, his passing range is obviously quite similar to mine.

“Just being in here every day, with not just him but all the players, top professionals, I’m going to learn a lot and become a better player.”
