The agent of Liverpool’s latest signing, Arthur Melo, has claimed his client will soon be back to full fitness, and the Brazilian will be hoping to push for a place in the first team.

It was common knowledge that Liverpool were eager to bring in a midfielder in the summer, and throughout the window they were linked with a whole host of names, with the most intense speculation reserved for Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and the former Sporting man Matheus Nunes.

Recent reports have also emerged which revealed the Merseyside club's interest in Chelsea’s latest signing, Denis Zakari.

However, the Red’s settled on the signature of Arthur Melo from Juventus on a one-year loan, a deal which they finalised in the last few hours of deadline day.

The Brazilian is yet to really kickstart his Liverpool career, and has only played 13 minutes for the first team so far which has led to fans and pundits questioning whether he has the quality to play for the six-time Champions League winners.

Arthur’s agent, Federico Pastorello, has dismissed these claims however, and he spoke of the player’s desire to get to full fitness in a recent interview with Gazzetto Dello Sport.

“He arrived there on the last day of the transfer market and played little last year because of both Allegri’s choices and an injury”, said the Italian.

"It’s normal for the first weeks to be used for adaptation and recovery of physical condition."

"Everyone is very happy with him. He gave up his holidays to stay in Liverpool to work. He’ll be at 100% soon.”

Klopp will be hoping his summer signing can turn around his form soon, especially given the worrying injury situation of his midfield at the moment.

Naby Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones and Thiago have all missed large chunks of the campaign and if Liverpool are to revive their season, the Red’s will need their whole squad to be fit and firing, including Arthur.
