Mo Salah sends Lisandro Martinez to the shops as Liverpool go 3-0 up at Anfield

Manchester United started the second half at Anfield in the worst way possible.

Mo Salah sent Lisandro Martinez for a hotdog as Liverpool blew Manchester United away in a blistering start to the second half.

Cody Gakpo gave the hosts the lead in the first half with a lovely solo goal and then a horrific sequence of errors from United straight after half-time led to Darwin Nunez doubling the advantage.

Luke Shaw gave the ball away before Casemiro and Raphael Varane were guilty of sloppy play before Harvey Elliott crossed for Nunez, who notched his 13th goal of the season.

But then Gakpo notched his second and Liverpool's third and we saw the very best of Salah in the build-up.

The Egyptian star destroyed Martinez, so solid for United this season and left him slipping and sliding on the turf as he tried to keep up with his lightning quick feet on the right flank.

Salah rolled it through to Gakpo, who skilfully dinked the ball past David de Gea to make it 3-0 and continue a breathtaking few minutes at Anfield.

Martinez has been one of the signings of the season, rarely putting a foot wrong at the heart of United's backline after joining from Ajax for a fee of £47 million.

But he got absolutely cooked by Salah and will not want to watch that moment back anytime soon.

However, plenty of Liverpool fans definitely will and erupted with reaction online.

One said: "SALAH GOT MARTINEZ ON STRICTLY COME DANCING."

A second commented: "Cant lie, Lisandro Martinez got spun by Salah like a 90's vinyl. I lost my breath for a sec."

A third added: "Mo Salah has just sent Lisandro Martinez all the way back to Ajax. Sensational feet from the Egyptian."

Another tweeted: "Martinez career was finished by Mo Salah right there!"
