A Liverpool fan has shown off his incredible 1000/1 bet that came through during Liverpool's 7-0 demolition of Manchester United on Sunday.

United have been the Premier League's in-form team since the World Cup, so when they turned up to Anfield just a week after winning the Carabao Cup, pretty much everyone expected a good performance from Erik ten Hag's side.

Couple that with the fact that Liverpool have performed well below their usual level this season, and nobody saw a heavy victory for the home side.

Well, almost nobody.

Ahead of the match, former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness predicted a comfortable win for Liverpool. Gary Neville and Roy Keane poked fun at their Sky Sports colleague, but they weren't laughing at full-time.

Now it appears that Souness wasn't the only one who foresaw a big home win.

Liverpool fan Jordan Attward shared a betting slip online that will surely be the envy of football punters across the country.

He placed a four-way 'Bet Builder' that included two goals each for Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, a bold call given both have struggled for consistency this season.

The duo didn't disappoint though, as both bagged braces in the second half as Liverpool tore through their bitter rivals.

Attward also needed United defender Lisandro Martinez and Liverpool midfielder Fabinho to be booked, and sure enough they were.

The only downside was that Attward only stuck £1 on the 1000/1 bet, but winnings of £1,001 aren't to be sniffed at.

The 7-0 mauling was United's joint-worst-ever result in a competitive match, and their first 7-0 loss since they were turned over by Wolves in 1931.

The win kept Liverpool in the race for a top-four finish, quite remarkable considering how poor they have been for much of the season.

Even if Jurgen Klopp's side do come up short, we have a feeling Attward won't be too devastated.
