Journalist Neil Jones has claimed that Jude Bellingham is interested in making a move to Liverpool next summer.

The Borussia Dortmund, star has been intensely linked with a switch to Anfield in recent months, with the transfer being dubbed as inevitable by many.

The 18-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and has been reported to be the subject of interest from a host of European clubs.

After another excellent campaign in Germany, where he managed 44 appearances and scored 6 goals across all competitions, the England international could be on his way out this summer.

However, a transfer in 2023 is supposedly the more likely outcome, with Dortmund supposedly unwilling to sell both Bellingham and Erling Haaland in the same window.

Writing for Goal on Monday, reliable journalist Jones claimed that the former Birmingham City man ‘would be more than interested in a move to Merseyside’ next summer.

Jones also cited Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid as other clubs in the race for the starlet, and that the player will ‘almost certainly leave’ in 12 months' time.

If the aforementioned clubs are pursuing Bellingham, this will significantly hinder Liverpool’s chances of landing the Englishman. All of them are capable of financially outmuscling the Reds and they’ll be forced to offer him an attractive proposal that isn’t money driven.

While there have been rumours suggesting Jurgen Klopp will look to sign a midfielder in this window after already acquiring Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho this summer, it’s believed that it is more likely they’ll move next summer.

Rebuilding this area of the pitch which is ageing is a pivotal step in Klopp launching the next iteration of this historic club.

The likes of Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Jordan Henderson are all over 30, so lowering the age profile in the middle of the park will be key.

Expect significant movements on this deal next year.
