Liverpool vs Arsenal betting tips, best odds and predictions

Tips, odds and predictions for Liverpool vs Arsenal.

Liverpool take on Arsenal in a highly-anticipated Premier League clash on Sunday.

A win at Anfield for Mikel Arteta's Gunners would take them one step closer to winning the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.

For Liverpool, they desperately need the three points to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive.

It is a task that looks ever more daunting by the week for Jurgen Klopp and his side, with the Reds 13 points off the top four spots with 10 matches still to play.

Even a run of seven wins in nine games - like the run which lifted them from outside the top four spots to third place in the 2020/21 season - will likely not be enough. But it means Sunday's clash is a must-win game.

Here are some tips and predictions ahead of the match (all odds correct at the time of writing and via SkyBet).

Liverpool vs Arsenal: First goalscorer odds

Gabriel Martinelli is Arsenal's top goalscorer this season, and, along with Bukayo Saka, is perhaps the likeliest of Arsenal's front four - including Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus - to start at Anfield.

You can get odds of 7/1 on the Brazilian to score first against Liverpool, or 9/4 to score anytime.

An alternative first goalscorer option for Arsenal is captain Martin Odegaard, who has 10 goals for the season and is priced at 9/1 to open the scoring. You can get odds of 3/1 on the Norwegian to score at any time.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is perhaps the obvious choice if you're backing a Reds player to score first. He is priced at 11/2 to open the scoring, with team-mate Cody Gakpo priced up at 7/1.

If you think the game will lack a goal, meanwhile, the no goalscorer bet is available at 14/1.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Goals

Matches between Liverpool and Arsenal are often high-scoring encounters - just take the chaotic 5-5 draw over 120 minutes in the League Cup back in 2019, or the 3-3 draw at the Emirates in 2017.

Advert

With this game so pivotal in potentially deciding the fortunes of either side this season, it could well be an end-to-end encounter.

You can get odds of 5/1 on Arsenal to win and over 3.5 goals, while a Liverpool win and over 3.5 goals is priced at 11/2.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Match prediction

Liverpool have only lost once at Anfield this season, despite their struggles, meaning it will be a hurdle for Arsenal to overcome in their pursuit of the title.

Advert

A defeat, of course, could make zero difference for the Gunners come the end of the season if they can pick up enough points in the other games.

But that isn't how Arteta's side operates game by game, and they will no doubt travel to Anfield looking to take the game to the Reds.

With that in mind, we're going for a 3-1 win for the Gunners.
