Fans think Lionel Messi must have eyes in the back of his head after inexplicable pass to Kylian Mbappe

Fans think Lionel Messi must have eyes in the back of his head after inexplicable pass to Kylian Mbappe

Lionel Messi didn't even see Kylian Mbappe but played him in exquisitely in a PSG training session.

Lionel Messi's pass for Kylian Mbappe during a PSG training session last year still needs explaining, with fans thinking the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has eyes in the back of his head.

Messi, who recently completed a move to Inter Miami, completed football in 2022 by winning the World Cup with Argentina to add to his illustrious list of achievements in the game and even at the age of 36, he is still capable of the sublime as the video below shows.

The Argentina captain linked up with Mbappe and produced absolutely wizardry in a small-sided game back in August last year.

Mbappe found Messi in a tight space and was screaming "LEO!" as he called for the return pass. It was a tricky one, however, with defenders, including Sergio Ramos, swarming him.

But after the touch to get it out of his feet, the GOAT somehow fed the ball back to Mbappe without even looking up once. He just knew where he was.

Messi has been known to scan before receiving the ball to ensure he has options available but this genius pass was played with complete telepathy.

Mbappe took one touch and then slotted the ball past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. And fans were left in awe by the vision displayed by Messi.

Just Messi things. He's done this type of no-look pass time and time again in the biggest games under immense pressure with absolute tease.

Messi and Mbappe's relationship during their time together in the French capital regularly came under the microscope, with frequent analysis over the body language they shared during matches together.

Messi is set to make his debut for his new club in July, with former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets joining him in the MLS. Mbappe, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid as his PSG future remains uncertain.
