A fan meets Lionel Messi but she couldn’t figure out how to take a selfie, he's so patient

A fan meets Lionel Messi but she couldn’t figure out how to take a selfie, he's so patient

Lionel Messi bumped into a fan after Argentina's 7-0 victory over Curacao but things didn't exactly go to plan.

Lionel Messi has been praised for 'assisting both on and off the pitch' after one fan almost fumbled her opportunity to take a selfie with one of the all-time greats.

The 35-year-old passed the 100-goals mark for World Cup winners Argentina on Wednesday night, scoring a first-half hat-trick in what was a convincing 7-0 win over Curacao.

On his 174th cap for La Albiceleste, Messi was at his sparkling best as Nicolas Gonzalez, Enzo Fernandez, Angel Di María and Gonzalo Montiel completed the scoring at the Mario Kempes stadium in Cordoba.

After the full-time whistle, Messi and his teammates completed a victory lap with a replica of the World Cup trophy and posed for pictures with fans.

It was all going swimmingly well until one unfortunate fan stood beside Messi for an uncomfortable amount of time as she tried to figure out how to take a selfie.

After a few awkward seconds, the Paris Saint-Germain forward intervened and notched his second assist of the night with a quick tutorial.

As you can imagine, fans were quick to comment on the clip after it went viral.

One said: "He is more patient with her than she is with herself," while another wrote: "Bro assisting on and off the pitch."

A third commented: "I would forget my own name if I met him so this is very understandable. Also the way he's standing there all patient."

A fourth added: "My man never stops assisting."

Last year, Messi prevented a young supporter from being taken away by security and stopped to take a selfie after PSG's Trophee des Champions win over Nantes.

After the match, a young supporter attempted to get a photo with the Argentine as he headed down the tunnel at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Security grabbed the youngster, pulling him away from the scene. But the commotion caused Messi to stop, which prompted the security official to release the youngster.

A selfie with Messi is certainly a big deal. Just ask Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who only has one selfie on his smartphone and that's with the PSG forward.

Speaking at a special Q&A at the LFC Foundation Gala dinner in 2018, he said: "I have one selfie on my smartphone. That's with Messi. Cristiano was in the room, as well..."

So there we have it. Klopp clearly doesn't bother with family member selfies but a picture with arguably the greatest of all time was a must.
