An influencer has revealed his deep regret after getting Lionel Messi's name tattooed across his forehead.

The super fan was encouraged to immortalise the football superstar on his noggin following Argentina's win at the World Cup last month.

Colombian Mike Jambs copped some negative comments online when he revealed the ink on social media.

He defended the artwork and told people: “I'm not harming anyone, I'm not doing anything illegal.”

However, after some deep thought and retrospection, it looks like his attitude has changed slightly.

In a follow-up Instagram video, Jambs said: “I regret having done the tattoo because instead of bringing me positive things, it's led to lots of negative things, both personally and for my family.

“I didn't think I'd be saying this so soon and I felt very proud of what I'd done in the first few days, but I now wish I hadn't done it.”

According to Reuters, following Argentina’s win against France in the final, folks were flocking to tattoo artists in Buenos Aires with requests to have some ink in tribute to Messi.

Tattoo artist Sebastian Arguello Paz told the outlet: "I knew lots of people wanted tattoos of Messi and the team, because they had already booked me before the final.

“I never imagined there would be a queue at the shop the next day."

Elsewhere, a fellow fan of Argentina’s Number 10 made an altogether less long-lasting tribute.

The supporter decided it was prime time for a new fade, only this time with the little magician's face shaved into the back of his head.

An Instagram snap posted by hairstylist Anton Barber from the Dominican Republic showed off the epic style and honestly, well done to him.

The likeness is astounding.

Some fans might simply sport the blue and white colours of the winning squad as a way to celebrate.

But not whoever this guy is and, honestly, power to him.

In his post, the talented barber wrote: "I am fortunate to belong to Messi era, football history is rewritten.

"I watched several world cups hoping you will be given a chance to win that beautiful world trophy.

"Soccer unites, Latin America won today. You are great on and off the pitch."
