Previously unseen footage has emerged of Luis Enrique berating Kylian Mbappe during an intense tactical analysis session during the forward's final season at PSG.

Mbappe, 25, is no longer at the French club, having left on a free transfer at the end of last season for Real Madrid.

It was an acrimonious departure for the forward, who is still locked in a dispute with the French club over alleged unpaid wages - stemming from his decision to join Madrid rather than remain at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappe did not always see eye-to-eye with Enrique during their time together in Paris, with reports last season claiming the forward labelled his manager a "son of a b****" after being substituted in a match in April.

However, Enrique has wished Mbappe well since his exit and expressed his regret at PSG being unable to keep the France international.

"What a pity he went to Madrid. Especially for us at the time. But life is also part of the game," Enrique said last month.

"I hope everything goes very well for him. I have nothing to reproach him for, he conditioned his departure. We always try to improve his virtues and cover his defects. He has always been very polite and respectful. Also his brother and his parents."

Footage has now emerged of a tense interaction between Mbappe and Enrique during their time together in Paris.

The clip, shared on social media by Movistar, shows Enrique taking Mbappe through an individual tactical analysis session, which appears to have taken place after PSG's Champions League defeat to Barcelona at the Parc des Princes in April.

While PSG lost that match 3-2 at home, they progressed to the last four of the competition with a 6-4 aggregate win – winning the return leg at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys 4-1, with Mbappe scoring twice.

Enrique can be seen berating Mbappe during the meeting, seemingly over a lack of defensive commitment in the first leg.

The Spaniard is filmed using Mbappe's admiration for NBA legend Michael Jordan against him.

He said: "I read that you liked Michael Jordan? Michael Jordan was defending like a son of a b****!"

Enrique can be seen pointing his finger in the direction of Mbappe's face on multiple occasions, while the player remains silent.

He later softens his stance, telling Mbappe: "You are a phenomenon, a world class player, without a doubt" before urging him to "leave here with a bang" - referring to his expected move to Madrid.

Eventually, Mbappe responds with a short answer acknowledging Enrique's advice before walking out of shot at the end of the meeting.

Despite winning the tie, PSG would later be knocked out by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the Champions League after losing 2-0 on aggregate.

Real Madrid would go on to beat Dortmund 2-0 in the final, with Mbappe joining up with his new clubs weeks after their victory.

He has since made a strong start at the Bernabeu, scoring seven goals in his first 10 games, and will be hopeful of winning his first Champions League title this season - with Madrid once again one of the favourites to triumph.
