Lionel Messi sent a lovely message to a 100-year-old Argentina fan who logs every goal the six time Ballon d'Or winner scores with a paper and pencil.

In a world where all of Messi's stats are available to us at the touch of a button, on numerous devices and sites, Argentina fan Don Hernan does things in an old school fashion.

The Argentinian, who has reached his century, has become a bit of a Tik-Tok sensation in his country thanks to grandson Julian Mastrangelo.

Hernan makes sure he writes down every goal that Messi scores and calls Julian whenever he doesn't watch a match, to make sure he doesn't miss any, and has been writing it down since the 34-year-old started his career.

Messi has now sent his most dedicated fan a message, following Saturday night's Copa America win.

"Hello Hernan. Your story reached me, Messi said.

"It seems crazy to me that you have been recording my goals and in that way, and that is why I wanted to send you a big hug and thank you for what you do, for all your follow-up work."

After watching the video, a teary eyed Don said, "I always followed you and I will follow you. Until the end, I will walk behind you."

Don has been able to add four goals to his logs in the past few weeks, as Messi finally got his hands on some silverware with the national team.

The Barcelona legend, who is actually a free agent right now, won the Golden Boot at the Copa America and also picked up the Player of the Tournament award.

Messi share an extremely emotional hug with former Barca teammate Neymar at full time, with the rest of the Argentina players celebrating next to them.
