Inter and AC Milan are set to move into a new stadium in the future and a leaked video shows the design that the clubs may go for.

The two Milan teams have both played at the famous San Siro since 1947 but earlier this year it was announced they plan on moving into a new ground, built on the car park adjacent to the current stadium, expected to be for the 2022/23 season.

It's not yet known what the new ground will look like but a video on YouTube has reportedly leaked a design by American company Populous that is supposedly the front runner to win the design.

The new design looks to draw inspiration from the Duomo di Milano church in the city and the outside of the stadium will have a glass exterior.

The current stadium holds 80,000 but the new stadium will only hold 60,000. It is a similar move to when Juventus moved from the 67,229 capacity Stadio del Alpi to their new 41,507 capacity Allianz Stadium.

Whilst it's a lower capacity it will mean a better chance of filling the stadium and creating a better atmosphere for match goers, which will hopefully help the teams on the pitch.

The project claims to be 'most sustainable sports precinct in Europe' and will include rainwater harvesting, zero emissions and solar panels as some of its 'green' features.

The surrounding area will also be regenerated as part of the project and the ground will be set partly below street level to lessen its impact on the surrounding areas skyline.

Inter had initially wanted to renovate the original San Siro but Milan had always wanted to leave the old stadium in favour of something new.

The need to close parts of the stadium and worked with a much reduced capacity whilst renovating led to the Nerazzurri changing their minds and joining their rivals in deciding to move.

What do you think of the new San Siro?
