Kaka was once the best footballer in the world. The Brazilian ended his career in the MLS last season and has started working towards a life in management but now the AC Milan legend could come out of retirement.

This week Luka Modric finally broke the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo duopoly of big awards by stealing The Best FIFA Men's award from under the nose of Ronaldo, whilst Messi was back in fifth.

The pair have been winning the Ballon d'Or between them for the past decade but Modric looks set to break that run later this year too. The last man who wasn't Ronaldo or Messi to win was of course Kaka.

Former AC Milan midfielder won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA's former, and better named, award the World Player of the Year in 2007 with Milan but moved to Real Madrid two years later where he flopped in comparison.

After a year back at the San Siro in 2013 he eventually moved to America to finish his career with Orlando City with the World Cup winner retiring last year.

Now Kaka is back at Milan learning to become a manager but according to Calciomercato he could be about to come out of retirement to play for Serie C side Monza.

According to the report former Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is about to take 100% ownership of Monza and could take Adriano Galliani with him to the new club.

If Berlusconi were then to come to Kaka and ask him out of retirement then the 36 year old would think over the chance to become a player again and would find it hard to turn down the man who took him to Serie A in the first place.

The former Sao Paolo player is currently at the San Siro working alongside Paolo Maldini and Leonardo as he learns the ropes in a post playing world.

It would be some turn around for him to suddenly come out of retirement to play football again, just over a year after he decided to retire whilst in America.
