Real Madrid are said to be edging ever closer to completing yet another world-class signing.

Carlo Ancelotti's side brough stars such as Endrick and Kylian Mbappe to the club this summer as their hunt for European and global dominance continues.

Los Blancos won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season and will be hoping for even more success following the recent commencement of the new campaign.

Add England superstar Jude Bellingham and Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr to that list, it is hard to see how Real Madrid will once again be stopped this season.

Things could also be about to get even better too, with reports now suggesting their defence could be severely bolstered with yet another new signing.

According to Diario AS, Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is set to join the club in January on a pre-contract agreement.

That would mean Davies would become a Real Madrid player in the summer of 2025 ahead of the new 25/26 campaign in Spain.

Davies is said to have been courted by the Spanish giants for years and will now make the move from Germany upon the expiry of his current deal.

Club officials at the Santiago Bernabeu had hoped to sign him during the summer, but it was made impossible because Bayern's asking price was deemed to be excessive.

Davies is set to provide healthy competition for Ferland Mendy who has continued to impress following his move from Lyon back in 2019.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has in the past been extremely outspoken about the 23-year-old's contract situation at the Allianz Arena.

Eberl told Sport Bild back in 2023 that substantial offers have been made to the Canadian international.

"The negotiations have been going on for some time, but then stalled last summer," he began.

"We are dealing with the issue."

"I can say: We made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer.

"At some point in life you have to say yes or no."

Davies joined Bayern Munich from Canadian outfit Vancouver Whitecaps back in 2018.

During his time in Germany, the defender won the UEFA Champions League in 2020 as well as five Bundesliga titles.
