Jude Bellingham wins Kopa Trophy at Ballon d'Or awards as full rankings confirmed

He was the clear favourite.

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has won the prestigious Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d'Or awards in Paris.

Bellingham, 20, claimed France Football's award for the best U21 player in world football after being selected by a jury of former Ballon d'Or winners.

The England international scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season as they narrowly missed out on the Bundesliga title.

He joined Real Madrid in an £88m move this summer and has enjoyed a remarkable start to life in Spain, already scoring 13 goals in as many games this season.

Bellingham claimed the Kopa Trophy - previously won by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Pedri and Gavi - ahead of Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala, Barcelona's Pedri and Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga.

Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund - the sole Premier League player nominated - finished in ninth place out of the 10 nominees.

After receiving the award from Eden Hazard, Bellingham said in his acceptance speech: "Just wanted to thank everyone who's helped me get to this point, from Birmingham City, to Borussia Dortmund, to Real Madrid, to the England national team.

"But most importantly, my family - my mum and dad here tonight, and my brother back home. Thank you so much for all the support - it means a lot.

"It's a honour to be in front of some of the best players in the world, and some of the best players that have ever played the game.

"To win this trophy means a lot, but the most important thing is team trophies. Now I've got this one, it's important that I try and kick on and try and help Real Madrid and England to win trophies for many years."

The full rankings are as follows:

  1. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund/Real Madrid)
  2. Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
  3. Pedri (Barcelona)
  4. Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid)
  5. Gavi (Barcelona)
  6. Xavi Simons (PSV/RB Leipzig)
  7. Alejandro Balde (Barcelona)
  8. Antonio Silva (Benfica)
  9. Rasmus Hojlund (Atalanta/Manchester United)
  10. Elye Wahi (Montpellier/RC Lens)
