Endrick's Real Madrid career could be about to take an unexpected turn

The 18-year-old forward 'has a clear plan' for his career.

Endrick has a plan in place if he doesn't get enough first-team minutes in the opening months of his debut campaign.

The 18-year-old forward, who is widely regarded as of the world's most exciting talents, was moved to tears last month after he was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player.

Speaking in front of 40,000 fans at the Bernabeu, he said it was a dream come true to sign for the reigning European champions. "I am so happy," he said.

"Since I was a kid, I have always been a Madrid fan and now I am going to play for Madrid."

Endrick added: "I am here, I am going to play, I am so happy, my family are as well. I don't have words to describe what I am feeling. I always wanted to be here. I wanted to play for Madrid."

The teenager went on to make his debut for Madrid in their pre-season clash against AC Milan on July 27 before playing more minutes in a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona.

But he is yet to make his competitive debut for Carlo Ancelotti's side. He missed out against Atalanta in the Super Cup before warming the bench throughout last weekend's trip to Mallorca.

With the fixture list piling up in the coming weeks and month, Ancelotti will likely use the Brazilian forward more frequently as they prepare to defend their Champions League crown.

That being said, Endrick has not ruled out a loan in the winter transfer window if his playing time is less than expected, according to Spanish publication AS.

The report claims that his objective is to earn a place in Madrid's starting line-up as soon as possible but 'he does not lose sight of the fact that a lack of minutes could happen.'

An initial assessment of his situation will be made at Christmas, and a second one in the summer.

Endrick, meanwhile, is confident about his chances of breaking into Ancelotti's side.

He is the same age as Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr when they first arrived at the Bernabeu and he has more experience on the international stage at this stage of his career.

His pre-season may not have gone as expected, but the teenager is willing to learn. "Madrid has amazing players and when we return to Madrid I'll be able to play with more of them," he said on their pre-season tour. "I'm going to ask them for advice because I'm here to work."
