Barcelona veteran Robert Lewandowski could be set to join a club in a new league upon the expiry of his deal this summer.
Lewandowski, 37, is widely regarded as one of the best players of the past two decades, netting 628 goals in 867 appearances across spells at Delta Warszawa, Znicz Pruszków, Lech Poznań, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
The Polish international, who has scored 89 times in 165 appearances for his country, is set to see his Barca deal expire at the end of the season, meaning he will leave the Catalan club as a three-time La Liga winner.
And despite clearly being in the twilight of his career, the marksman appears to be on the move.
Advert
As reported by Polish outlet SportoweFakty, Lewandowski has received a concrete offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and is reportedly close to accepting it.
The outlet claims that the Saudi club have offered Lewandowski €90 million (£77.4 million) per season, equal to £1.48 million per week, which would make him the third-highest-paid player in the league behind Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Hilal’s Karim Benzema.

If Lewandowski were to complete a move to Al-Hilal, he would become team-mates with Benzema, Ruben Neves, Darwin Núñez and Theo Hernández, among other notable names.
What Robert Lewandowski has said about his future
Earlier in May, amid reports linking him with a move to MLS, he told Spanish outlet SPORT: “There might be an option to go to an inferior league.
“I’m almost 38, but I feel good physically, so I’m considering it. I have to consider the possibility that it might be time to play more freely and enjoy life. Maybe that option arises, and I’m not ruling it out.
“What will I do come the autumn? I don’t know. I just found out that I have 51 days left on my contract, so I still have time. I’ll listen to a few more offers and then make a decision.”
