Lamine Yamal 'watches highlights' of two Barcelona legends on YouTube before every match.

Yamal has emerged as one of the best players in world football following his stunning performances for Barca and Spain, where he inspired his national team to Euro 2024 glory last summer.

He's already scored six goals across all competitions this campaign, having chipped in with seven goals last season.

Before any game, the 17-year-old likes to go on YouTube and search for different players' highlights.

According to The Athletic, he looks up Neymar, his favourite player growing up, and Lionel Messi on YouTube.

Neymar and Messi both played for Barca and enjoyed glittering spells at the club.

They both played with each other as the pair forged an attacking trident with Luis Suarez, forming one of the most prolific and deadly attacks the game has ever seen.

The Brazilian spent four seasons at the Camp Nou outfit, notably helping them to Champions League success.

As for the Argentine icon, he had 17 phenomenal seasons, scoring an incredible 672 goals before departing.

Messi, who ended his association with the Catalan giants in 2021, indirectly praised Yamal and the current Barca side, which is managed by German coach Hansi Flick.

Speaking to TV3 last month, he said: "I'm hugely proud to see how the first team is representing the club right now.

"This Barca side is spectacular, although it doesn't surprise me. It is nothing new, it's always happened, or at least since I arrived at the club as a 13-year-old.

"It's spectacular that the kids have had chances in the last two years and, when you put confidence in them, this is how they respond because they know the club better than anyone.

"They are used to playing this way since they were little. If you give them the opportunity, these things happen, as happened in our era."
