Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta didn't hesitate when asked to name the one player that he wishes he could have played with.

Having played over 400 matches for one of the greatest Barcelona teams of all time, Iniesta has shared the pitch with some of the best to ever do it.

Xavi, Carles Puyol and, of course, Lionel Messi, are just some of the elite teammates that Iniesta played alongside while winning nine La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies with Barcelona.

But there is one player who the Spanish legend wishes he could have played with during his highly-impressive career.

Although he never made a move over to the Premier League, Iniesta was acutely aware of the top teams in England and encountered several of the top players on the international stage.

And that's why he named Premier League legend N'Golo Kante as the one player he wishes he could have played with at some point in their careers.

“He’s a player I’d like to have had in my team for many years,” the Barcelona legend told French outlet RMC Sport in 2018 while he played for Japanese side Vissel Kobe.

“He’s not going to come to Japan, but he’s definitely a player I love because of the work he does on the field and the confidence he has in his game.

"His mastery makes him the centrepiece of Chelsea and the France national team.”

At the time, Kante was still enjoying some of the best years of his career at Chelsea, as he went on to win the Champions League with the London club at the end of the 2020/21 season.

However, injuries held the Frenchman back towards the end of his spell in England, ultimately leading to him moving to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad in 2023.

In total Kante made 269 appearances for the Blues, winning the Premier League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and the Champions League during his seven year spell at the club.

The midfielder was also a part of the legendary Leicester City side that defied all odds and won the Premier League in 2016.

For France, Kante has made 64 appearances, with the highlight being winning the World Cup in 2018.
