Eagle-eyed fans have picked up on a cleverly hidden detail when French President Emmanuel Macron comforted Kylian Mbappe after the World Cup final in Qatar.
France failed to become only the third nation in history to win back-to-back World Cup titles after tasting defeat to Argentina at the Lusail Stadium this month.
Mbappe, who secured the World Cup Golden Boot ahead of Lionel Messi, scored a sensational hat-trick to force the thrilling World Cup final to a penalty shootout.

However, the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain superstar’s stunning performance in the final was left in vain after France fell short on penalties.
Macron watched on in attendance as Messi lifted his first World Cup title with Argentina, with Didier Deschamps’ men left crestfallen at the full-time whistle.
The French president was later spotted on the pitch comforting France’s dejected players, including PSG forward Mbappe.

However, footage of Macron and Mbappe’s exchange went viral on social media due to a little detail that some fans noticed in the background.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted what appears to be a bodyguard for Macron behind the French president, with the man putting his right hand on what appears to be a fake left hand.
It is believed that the man is concealing a weapon underneath the fake hand, which has often been speculated when it comes to bodyguards and state officials.

One fan posted: “You really think the president of France would roll without security?”
Someone else commented: “Who else didn’t understand the video at first and headed to the comments to see what the video is about?”
“Actually, looks like he’s holding something,” a third TikTok user suggested.
While a fourth added: “The hand is artificial [because] he is the bodyguard of the France president, Marcon.”

And a fifth TikToker claimed: “Bodyguards usually do that, they have one hand hiding [and] holding a gun, just in case.”
