Kieron Dyer moans player 'should be in Brazil team' without realising he already is

Kieron Dyer moans player 'should be in Brazil team' without realising he already is

Pundit Kieron Dyer has moaned Bruno Guimaraes should be in the Brazil squad without realising he already is.

Former Newcastle United man Kieron Dyer believes Bruno Guimaraes should be involved in the Brazil national team following his performances throughout the 2022/23 season, but doesn't realise he already is.

The 25-year-old was signed for around £37 million in January 2022 and has since gone on to spearhead a revolutionary 12-months at the club, as the Magpies have catapulted themselves from battling relegation into fighting for a Champions League spot.

A battle in which they have received a massive boost in this afternoon, as Eddie Howe's side ran riot in the 6-1 victory against a struggling Tottenham Hotspur team to solidify themselves in third place.

The Brazilian midfielder was influential throughout the 70 minutes of action he saw at St James' Park, before being substituted by Howe once all three points had been secured.

A performance which former Newcastle man Kieron Dyer had a perfect view of as he covered the game for Sky Sports. Speaking back in January, Dyer unknowingly embarrassed himself regarding the player as he highlighted how he thought he deserved to be called up to the Brazil national team on the back of his performances in black and white, without realising the player already has ten caps to his name. He said: "He’s irreplaceable. I think since they’ve signed him he’s [got the] most passes, most tackles, and probably the second-most goals they’ve scored.

"Biggest compliment I can pay him is that I think he should be playing in the Brazil team, Brazil being the number one team in the world. I was quite shocked that he didn’t play, or start for them, at the World Cup.

"If you’re picking probably the team of the season, for me he’s been up there with probably Eriksen, de Bruyne and Xhaka - [currently] the four best midfielders in the league. He’s a massive player and I’m so glad that he’s playing here today."
