Jude Bellingham set to be dropped for England vs Wales

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder impressed in the first game vs Iran but came off the pitch during the draw with USA.

Gareth Southgate is set to make at least one change for England's final World Cup group game, against Wales, with Jude Bellingham expected to be axed.

England's route to the knockout stages was expected to be pretty easy, once they battered Iran 6-2 in the opening game of the group.

In that game Bellingham was one of the standout performers, with the 19-year-old proving exactly why he belongs on the world stage.

The game against USA didn't go as planned however, and the Americans actually had the better chances in what was a relatively dull 0-0.

None of the front three were firing on all cylinders, with Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling unable to get much of the ball and not doing much with it when they did.

Mason Mount was another player heavily criticised, with fans pleading with Southgate to bring on Phil Foden to replace the Chelsea midfielder.

However, instead it was Bellingham replaced in the engine room, with Jordan Henderson coming on for the Borussia Dortmund star.

And the youngster is set to be the fall guy on Tuesday night, with Southgate's team taking on neighbours Wales in the final group game.

According to the Daily Mail, the 19-year-old will be replaced by Henderson in the starting line up, and it's not known if it'll be the only change.

Whilst it is a like-for-like type switch, England did seem to have more of the game late on vs USA, after Henderson had come on.

The Three Lions were also helped with the introductions of Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish, and they may have had more impact than the Liverpool midfielder.

There have been calls for other changes for the starting line up, with Foden's introduction the one that most fans want to see.

Southgate claimed that Foden's rare appearances in the centre of the pitch were the reason for the Manchester City star being overlooked.

Gary Neville also called for Trent Alexander-Arnold to be used for his more attacking abilities, with Kieran Trippier having a rare bad game.

Wales must hope Iran and USA draw, and they beat England, in order to go through, if not they'll have to beat Southgate's side 4-0.
