Jordan Henderson annoyed his own fans with his statement following Liverpool's crushing 4-1 loss at Manchester City on Saturday.
The Reds succumbed to their ninth Premier League defeat of the season to the hands of Man City, who ran riot in the second-half - scoring three goals without reply.
Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish all got on the score-sheet after Julian Alvarez cancelled out Mohamed Salah's opener in the first-half.

Liverpool weren't at the races, with fans taking aim at Trent Alexander-Arnold who failed to contain Grealish as the England forward starred in his side's win.
They also didn't like Henderson's statement following their defeat to the Blues. He said his team will 'try to use the positives and try to be better'.
He told Liverpool's official website: "I think that was a big moment in the match and we didnāt react well after the second goal."

"[We] didnāt defend it well enough. From then the game sort of ran away from us. In the end we couldnāt get anywhere near City. Weāre disappointed [with the] second half and that decided the game.
"Itās very difficult. Thatās what theyāre good at when they go in the lead, they keep the ball away and wait for the right moments. Itās really difficult to press and try and win the ball back - from the second goal they dominated the game."
Henderson added: "Weāve got to try to keep going. There were good moments in the first half. If weāre being critical, we probably should go 2-0 up - or at least score a second goal.
"We werenāt ruthless enough in either our box, or their box, and that's where the game [was] decided really. Overall, a really disappointing day, but the games come round thick and fast and you canāt be too down. You have got to try to react in the right way, try to use the positives and try to be better in the things we didnāt do well and keep going."
But his words weren't received well among Liverpool fans as they slammed the captain's post-match comments as well as his performance at the Etihad.
One Liverpool fan tweeted: "This was absolutely the worst player on the pitch who offered absolutely nothing."

A second wrote: "They say this shit every week, then repeat their performances."
A third fumed: "That's probably the 23rd time we've seen this quote this season."
Another said: "What positives? That second 45 minutes was the worst under Klopp we've witnessed."
The defeat leaves Jurgen Klopp's team languishing in eighth place in the table, seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham.
