Eagle-eyed fans have only noticed Joao Felix won't play for Chelsea again for at least 30 days

Eagle-eyed fans have only noticed Joao Felix won't play for Chelsea again for at least 30 days

Atletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix will have to wait 30 days before he can play for Chelsea again after his red card against Fulham.

New Chelsea signing Joao Felix will have to wait at least 30 days to play for the Blues after he was sent off for his shock challenge against Fulham on Thursday.

Chelsea paid Atletico Madrid a £9.7m fee to land Portugal international Felix, who is under contract with the La Liga club until 2027, on a six-month loan deal.

Following the announcement of Felix’s arrival on Wednesday, under-fire Chelsea boss Graham Potter immediately placed the Atletico loanee in his starting XI.

However, Felix’s Chelsea debut turned into a nightmare after he was shown a red card for his reckless tackle on Fulham defender Kenny Tete in the second half.

The 23-year-old Portuguese forward will now face a three-match suspension, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that Felix won’t be eligible for up to 30 days.

As a result of his straight red, Felix will be absent from Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League clashes against Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Fulham.

Felix’s next likely appearance for Chelsea would be on 11th February when Potter’s men travel to the London Stadium for their Premier League clash with West Ham.

“Can’t wait for 30 days to watch Joao Felix again,” one fan said.

Someone else posted: “Another 30 days before we see Joao Felix play for us. God, what have we done to deserve this?”

A third tweeted: “We won’t see Joao Felix for 30 days. Oh my God.”

While a fourth added: “Felix was the only thing I was looking forward [to] and now he’s suspended. 30 DAYS.”

And a fifth Twitter user wrote: “Heard Felix is not playing any time soon, see you after 30 days.”
