Jeremy Livolant of Guingamp scored a spectacular volley from 40 yards out during his side’s Ligue 2 match against Laval.
With the game in the balance at 1-1 going into the last 15 minutes, Livolant pulled something straight out of the top drawer.
Guingamp was awarded a free kick in the middle of their opponent’s half and as the ball was cleared out by the Laval defence it bounced perfectly in front of Livolant. The Guingamp player showed tremendous technique as he volleyed the ball from a long way out into the back of the net, leaving the Laval goalkeeper diving in despair.

Livolant ran towards his team’s bench as his teammates chased after him in shock and excitement.
That incredible goal turned out to be the winner as Guingamp came out 2-1 winners. Guingamp have won two games out of two and are top of the table in Ligue 2.
Many thought Lionel Messi’s bicycle kick during Paris Saint Germain’s 5-0 win over Clermont Foot was the goal of the day but Livolant’s stunning volley is certainly up there.
Sports writer, Robin Bairner wrote on Twitter: “Lionel Messi's goal wasn't even the best in France yesterday. Step forward Jeremy Livolant, who scored this winning goal in the Ligue 2 derby between Laval and Guingamp.”
One fan said: “Jeremy Livolant scored the best goal in France and maybe all season yesterday!”

Another tweeted: “We have the Puskas Prize of the season from August 6th. Fantastic Jeremy Livolant.”
And a third added: “This is a Pukas contender.”
24-year-old Livolant has been with Guingamp since 2009 and came up through the ranks to make his Ligue 1 debut in December of 2015, against Girondins de Bordeaux. He scored his first ever goal for the club in a match against AJ Auxerre in October of 2020.
In total, the winger has made 75 appearances and scored seven goals for Guingamp but no goal will top the one he scored yesterday. An absolute beauty.

Will there be a better goal scored in the remainder of the season? Only time will tell.
