Speed asks woman where Cristiano Ronaldo is when visiting Manchester, he got mugged off

IShowSpeed was on the lookout for Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their Carabao Cup clash against Aston Villa.

IShowSpeed was desperate to meet Cristiano Ronaldo when he visited the UK this week, but his attempts to ask members of the public of his idol's whereabouts didn't go to plan.

The popular American content creator, real name Darren Watkins, is well-known for live-streaming games and general day-to-day life on his social media platforms, including a YouTube channel that has almost 13 million subscribers.

Earlier this week, the 17-year-old took a flight to Manchester from Cincinnati to attend Thursday night's Carabao Cup clash between Manchester United and Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

And hours before kick-off, 'Speed' decided to visit the city centre in a bid to find his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He walked up and down the streets of Manchester, asking various members of the public for Ronaldo's location. But of course, nobody had a clue where the five-time Ballon d'Or was – something that made for live-streaming gold.

In a soon-to-be viral moment, Speed approached one woman and asked: “Excuse me, mam. Where’s Ronaldo at?”

Seconds later and she replied: “the six-yard box", an answer that didn't go down too well with the YouTube personality. You can see that brilliant footage below.

It was hardly a surprise that Speed didn't see Ronaldo roaming the streets of Manchester on a Thursday night, but at least he could watch his idol play against Aston Villa in the flesh, right?

Wrong. The 37-year-old was ruled out of the game through illness and Speed took to social media after finding out the news. “I’m crying right now," he wrote on Twitter. "I flew all the way to Manchester to see ronaldo and he not playing."

That being said, the online personality still managed to secure some viral moments throughout his trip to Old Trafford.

Ahead of kick-off, he bumped into Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand, the former midfielder who made over 300 appearances for the Reds during a trophy-laden eight year spell.

Speed, however, didn't recognise Crerand. In fact, he thought the 83-year-old was David Beckham.

Speed butchered his name, calling him 'Curney', and then said he was born in 1720.

Another viral moment involving the popular streamer came when he told reporters that his favourite Manchester United moment involved Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fair enough right? Well, Speed recalled a Ronaldo-related story from 'back in 2013' – when Portugal's all-time top goalscorer was playing for Real Madrid.

He might not have met his idol on his visit to Old Trafford, but it's fair to say he got plenty of content from the day.
