Inaki Williams Squares Up To Player Who Was Lucky Not To Break His Brother's Leg

Nico Williams was lucky not to have his leg broken in half by Osasuna striker Chimy Avila and Inaki jumped in to have words with him.

Inaki Williams younger brother Nico was lucky to escape a broken leg on Monday, after his speed allowed him to avoid a horrendous challenge from Osasuna striker Chimy Avila.

Athletic Bilbao had plenty to celebrate with their performance, as they earned all three points on their trip to Osasuna in a comeback victory, winning easily 3-1, but there was nearly disaster right at the end.

Avila, perhaps frustrated with his team's performance, attempted to stop a breakaway in the final minutes of injury time, with 19-year-old Nico Williams running towards the half way line, with plenty of teammates in support.

The Osasuna striker flew into a challenge, that he really didn't need to make, and was mere inches from making studs up contact with his opposing forward's leg. Williams was lucky enough to hurdle the challenge but his older brother, Inaki, was not happy.

Chimy Ávila hizo esta entrada a Nico Williams y no pasó nada. Si es de carcel, de retirada. Para que sirve el VAR..?? pic.twitter.com/xLrqXDedS0

This is why Iñaki Williams almost went medieval at Chimy Avila after the latter almost caught the former's brother (Nico Williams) like this. If he has actually caught our guy, it would have been one hell of an injury https://t.co/ZMR1FUMaks

Avila earned himself an early exit from the game, as he picked up two yellow cards in injury time, although how he avoided a red for the challenge is only because he just avoided contact.

The second yellow was given during the argument with the older Williams brother, as the match descended into chaos with the visiting players unsurprisingly unhappy with the reckless potential leg breaker.

Osasuna went into the match on the back of a nine game winless streak, having not picked up all three points since a win over Villarreal on October 17th, but were ahead early on.

Kike Garcia gave the hosts the lead in the 10th minute, but they were soon pegged back, thanks in part to the older of the Williams brothers.

Inaki, making an incredible 215th consecutive appearance without fail for Bilbao, assisted Oihan Sancet's equaliser in the 16th minute.

Sancet, fresh off scoring his first of the season in the pre winter break against Real Madrid, bagged twice more, in the 25th and 68th minute, to complete his hat-trick.

The game seemed to be petering out to a finish before Avila decided to spice things up with one of the worst challenges we've seen in some time!
