Jamie O'Hara has suggested that Harry Kane leaving the Premier League to join Bayern Munich would be a step down in his career.

Kane has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are thought to be keeping tabs on the England captain.

Not to mention Bayern who reportedly made a £70 million bid for the star forward, according to German outlet Bild.

The report also claims Kane has agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga giants ahead of a potential summer move.

If the 29-year-old moves to Bayern, then it'll bring an end to his glittering spell in England's top flight.

Ahead of a possible move to Germany, O'Hara has questioned if Kane leaving the Premier League for Bayern would be a step down.

"Would you rather the Premier League scoring record or a Bundesliga title which you’re almost guaranteed to win? It’s like going to PSG," he said on talkSPORT.

"Do we really care about Bayern Munich over here? We don’t, do we?

"We talk about Real Madrid because it’s Real Madrid, we talk about Barcelona, but we don’t really go on about Bayern Munich."

The former Spurs man added: "But I feel like the Premier League is so big it’s almost like a step down."

Needless to say, O'Hara's bold claim about Kane's potential transfer sent social media wild as fans online made their feelings known.

One Twitter user wrote: "Last time I checked Bayern Munich were one of the worlds biggest clubs and a multiple CL winner."

A second joked: "6 time Champions League winners Bayern Munich is a step down."

A third tweeted: "The Bundesliga is a step down from the premier league as a whole but make no mistake Bayern are a huge step up from Spurs."

A fourth added: "Bayern regularly reach the latter stages of the Champions League. Spurs haven't even qualified.

Another commented: "No it’s not a step down, it’s a step up in a different direction, but not as high as it could be if he waited to go on a free."

Is leaving the Premier League for Bayern a step down for Kane? Let us know what you think.
