Erling Haaland DOESN'T feature in Europe's top five leagues team of the season

Fans have been left stunned at Erling Haaland NOT featuring in Europe's top five leagues team of the season

The Manchester City forward has enjoyed an ultra-prolific campaign this season, scoring a staggering 52 goals in all competitions.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot award, having scored an impressive 36 league goals - a new record in England's top flight.

And he has 12 Champions League goals to his name as his side face Inter Milan in the competition final on Saturday.

But he hasn't done enough to feature in WhoScored's Europe's top five leagues team of the season.

Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr is another notable omission from the XI, with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe named in the team.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, who is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, is the highest-rated player in the team with a score of 8.28.

Arsenal's Bukaya Saka and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne slot in midfield, alongside Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kieran Tripper, Benjamin Pavard, Andrei Girotto and Raphael Guerreiro make up the back four while Jeremias Ledesma is the man between the sticks.

The exclusions of Haaland and Vinicius Jr angered fans online, sending social media wild.

One Twitter user wrote: "Osimhen is better than Mbappe."

A second tweeted: "Tripper is so underrated... very reliable player."

A third added: "How's Haaland not in the XI and Vini also."

A fourth said: "Where is Vini Jr he had a better season than Saka."

A fifth commented: "Haaland not being in this is insane to me I'm sorry."

Just like Haaland, Vinicius Jr has had a stellar campaign on an individual note, scoring 23 goals in all competitions - which is his best goal-scoring return of his career.

Though he's failed to gain a spot in Europe's top five leagues team of the season despite his performances for Real Madrid this season.

What's your take on the XI? Let us know.
