Steven Gerrard's son walked out with Mo Salah and did the most Steven Gerrard thing possible

Steven Gerrard's son walked out with Mo Salah and did the most Steven Gerrard thing possible

It seems like Steven Gerrard's aura is genetic, as his son walked out as a mascot at Anfield this afternoon and looked like he belonged.

Lio Gerrard walked out with Mo Salah at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, and looked unfazed at the prospect of walking out at a packed out stadium as he had his hands on his hips.

It looks like the Gerrard aura may be a genetic trait, as Lio looked completely unshaken as Liverpool walked out for their 3 pm game against Nottingham Forest in a crucial game as they bid to make top 4.

The five-year-old looked like he belonged at Anfield, with his body language looking relaxed as other mascots looked around at the stadium or looked nervous when walking out with the team.

Liverpool are in a last-minute race for top 4 now, with Liverpool and Newcastle hitting dodgy runs of form at the perfect time from Liverpool's perspective.

The Reds could use some of the calmness and confidence that Lio Gerrard showed coming onto the pitch, as they have not had their finest season on the pitch.

They have not fully recovered from their woeful start to the season, but coming into the last seven games of the season following today's game with no other commitments to other competitions will be a positive for the Merseyside club.

Fans on social media were loving Lio Gerrard's swagger as he walked out, comparing him to his club legend Father.

"Lio Gerrard walking out (with Salah) with his hands on his hips like he owns the gaff" One fan said.

Fans even claimed he had "The Gerrard genes" and claimed "He thinks he’s him" with laughing emojis and a picture of Steven Gerrard with his hands on his hips.

If Lio's football ability is anywhere near as good as his Fathers, it is certain that Liverpool fans would love to have him come through the ranks at the club and represent the first team one day.

Liverpool's 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest puts them just six points off top 4 just before the season run-in.
