Five-time European champion Gareth Bale’s score prediction for the Champions League final has gone viral.

On Saturday night, Italian giants Inter Milan will take on Premier League champions Manchester City for the European crown in Istanbul.

Ahead of the final, a host of former players were asked to predict the final score.

Bale, who was answering questions at PlayStation House, made a prediction that has got fans talking. You can watch the footage below.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Wales player boldly predicted Pep Guardiola’s men to thrash Inter 5-0 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Fans were quick to react to Bale’s prediction on social media.

One said: “That’s bold.”

Another tweeted: “As if Inter needed more motivation! Thanks, Gareth.”

A third fan added: “Isn’t even that wild of a prediction and people are massively upset…”

Someone else wrote: “Nah this disrespect on Inter is crazy.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Inter don't let them. The insult is too much.”

City are without a doubt the overwhelming favourites to land their first European title and to complete the treble having already won the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Speaking ahead of the match, Inter boss Simone Inzaghi said: “We know what kind of match to expect tomorrow, we know what kind of match we have to play. We know that Manchester City right now is probably the best team in the world.

“They have proved so in being defeated very few times, but we are aware of our Champions League campaign, we are proud of what we have done.”

He added: “We will do our best to play the final with high concentration, we must make no mistakes because our opponents are very very strong.”
